Bringing together perspectives shaped by different background within interior and architectural design, Xu & Wang builds spatial narratives that are considered and diverse in character. Grounded in an academic background, the studio approaches spatial storytelling with rigour, while remaining open to a broad range of design languages rather than a fixed style.
Starting from a sense of organisation and restraint, Xu & Wang’s work seeks a balance between respect for history and contemporary minimalism. Materials and details are carefully selected to respond to their context, allowing new interventions to connect naturally with the existing. Through thoughtful choices between old and new, each project develops its own distinct atmosphere.
